Sofia Vergara’s va-va-voom’ness has just earned her the top spot on AskMen’s Most Desirable Woman of 2012 list. The men’s online magazine’s annual list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women was announced last week and the 39-year-old Modern Family star joins an impressive group of  “top spot” A-list alums including Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. When it comes to “desirability,” Sofia proves that age has nothin’ to do with it. She moved to #1 from #3 on last year’s list after her breakout year thanks to ABC’s wildly-popular series Modern Family.

The fiery Colombian bombshell beat out a number of younger leading ladies and newcomers to lead the Top 10, such as Victoria’s Secret models Miranda Kerr (#4) and Candice Swanepoel (#10), rapper Nicki Minaj (#5), and actresses Emma Stone (#6) and Scarlett Johansson (#7). Even more interesting, perennial favorites like Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie did not even make the 2012 list at all! A big change, especially for Angie, who has made the list 10 years in a row from 2001 to 2011.  Seems guys are growing tired of the former mainstays of desirability and are opting for new faces like Sofia, Kim Kardashian (#8), Rihanna (#9), and Zooey Deschanel (#12) who have risen up to take their place. Janet wrote fearlessly about her self-image issues in her book, “True You,” documenting the struggle with her weight and becoming fodder for fat jokes in the tabloids. After reading her book–which was published in hardcover earlier this year and hit stores in paperback this week–Nutrisystem chief executive Joe Redling approached Janet about his weight-loss program and gave her some of Nutrisystem’s pre-packaged foods to sample while on tour. She said she was instantly sold. Janet now joins the ranks of Nutrisystem users to become the “new face” of the weight-loss program, promoting a new “SUCCESS” diet plan.

“Weight gain,” she wrote in her book, “is something I’ve dealt with my entire life….eating was emotional for me; eating calmed my nerves and brought me instant gratification.” Janet recently told Reuters that she is going about her Nutrisystem weight loss plan in an entirely different way by not putting a pound amount on it. “It’s about when I feel healthy, about when I feel good. That is how I want to be,” she said. Rihanna in Tom Ford Sunglasses

Rihanna’s been through some tough stuff over the years, but these days her blood is boiling because a magazine recently referred to her as “the ultimate [N-word/B-word]” while informing readers how to dress like the popular singer. Jackie, a Dutch fashion magazine, also used the term “ghetto” to describe Rihanna’s backside, while incorrectly stating that the Barbados-born singer was from Jamaica.

According to The Washington Post, RiRi responded via Twitter. “I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!” she tweeted, then stating that the magazine “[degrades] an entire race” and “[encourages] segregation” followed up by “Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you… [expletive] YOU!!!”

Jackie’s editor-in-chief apologized for the blurb and claimed that it was meant to be a joke, with no malice intended, and claims that the offensive terms would no longer appear in the magazine. Either way, Rihanna’s got a right to be a little ticked off. Khloe Kardashian in Tom Ford Sunglasses

Khloe and Lamar are headed to the Lone Star state. After a crazy week, basketball star Lamar Odom learned he’s been traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, the LA Times’ Lakers Blog confirmed late Saturday. Lamar was initially set to be traded to the New Orleans Hornets as part of a somewhat scandalous exchange of players between the Lakers, Hornets and the Houston Rockets–a trade that was ultimately nixed by the league. Though it’s unclear exactly why Lamar was ousted from the Lakers, there’s speculation that managers may have wanted to “dump” his costly $17 million salary and/or create opportunities to recruit other star players to the team. (wah, wah, wah.)

Lamar’s remained quiet about the news, but wife (and fave loud-mouthed reality vixen) Khloe Kardashian took to Twitter about their impending move to Texas in what seems to be an effort to remain positive. She quoted bible verses and attempted to dispell theories that her own celebrity somehow inspired the trade. “I am curious as to how I am the cause for any trade? LOL Some people just say anything behind their computer screens.” She went on to say that although they are sad about the move, “positive energy gets you farther then negative.” “I am sure I will love it but I am a tad thrown off…I know for a fact blessings are everywhere!!! Everything happens for a reason…” Maybe Khlo Khlo can bring some of the Kardashian style panache to Texas, as she shows here in these fab Tom Ford diva-worthy shades.

Kourtney Kardashian is definitely a gal who can dress to impress, and it looks like she’s passed the style gene to her son Mason. “I love dressing Mason more than dressing myself,” the 32-year-old hot mama confessed to E! during a recent interview. “It’s so much fun picking out his clothes and making outfits and giving him style. I’ll pick one item to start dressing … and then I’ll build his outfit from that,” she explained, as if she were a fashion consultant speaking about a client rather than a toddler’s mother. Despite her vast bank accounts—Mason’s shoe collection apparently includes his favorite soft-sole moccasins in every color—Kourt has some advice for all frugal girls out there. “Let the grandmas buy the expensive stuff.”

Looks like Mason’s grandma, Kourtney’s “momager” Kris Jenner, will have plenty of opportunity to continue her dislike of Kourt’s baby-daddy Scott Disick—if he sticks around, that is—because little Mason is going to be a big brother. That’s right; on November 30 the happy couple (cough, cough) announced they’re expecting their second child. Call it an early Christmas gift–for herself, of course. Our fave hotel heiress just treated herself to a brand new 2012 California Spyder Ferrari worth $300,000. The red sports car was delivered to her L.A. home just last week. A star-struck Ferrari dealership employee dished to X17: “When Paris walked in all of our eyes were on her,” the source said. The source also added a Ferrari “plug” saying that the company is super-excited that she has purchased one of their cars because they know it’s going to bring worldwide exposure and that Paris is the perfect fit for their brand. (No kidding!) Paris actually waited a whole day to take her new ride out for a spin, telling her Twitter followers: “Just drove my new car for the first time. Such a beautiful car and so much fun to drive! I love it!” What’s not to love.

So is he or isn’t he? Just days after Brad Pitt told Australia’s 60 Minutes that he’s quitting the acting game in three years when he turns 50,  he’s doing some serious back-tracking. The 47-year-old actor reiterated that he won’t be done with moviemaking at age 50; he’ll just transition to roles behind the lens. “I wasn’t actually putting an exact deadline on my expiration date [in Australia's 60 Minutes interview], but I see it coming,” Brad told reporters at a press conference promoting Moneyball in South Korea. “I just have other interests and I do quite enjoy the production side,” he said. In fact, the mega hunk says he’s quite content with growing older — especially with Angelina Jolie and their six kids by his side–and went so far as to say that he actually enjoys aging! (Must be easy to say when you’re still a hottie and aging as gracefully as he is). “With age comes wisdom and I have said it before and I say it again, I will take wisdom over youth any day,” he said. “I think certainly, being a father has changed everything for me as far as perspective and interest, taking care of myself and wanting to be around for them.”

Dad to Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and Vivienne and Knox, 3, Brad told 60 Minutes he doesn’t mind chasing after his children as he grows older. “Those late nights are so fun when one of them’s up or those mornings when they get up and make pancakes or something,” he told 60 Minutes of parenting their large brood. “That’s what it’s about.” Here he makes it pretty evident that he’s hot, happenin’, and here to stay in these dapper Tom Ford shades.  –rpuccia

After separating from Marc Anthony following seven years of marriage, Jennifer seemed to have moved on with just-crowned People Mag Sexiest Man Alive, Bradley Cooper. But four months after the split, JLo has been spotted with yet another new (younger) man in her life: Casper Smart, a dancer from Anaheim, Calif. (yep, another dancer.) Over the weekend, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that Jen has been romantically involved with the backup dancer for a few weeks and  finally broke this past weekend.  TMZ published the first photo of the unexpected twosome together, posing semi-affectionately backstage following Lopez’s summer performance in the Republic of Crimea in Ukraine. (Casper along with a crew of dancers help Lopez entertain the guests of a lavish wedding within days of her announced split from hubby Marc Anthony.) He also shared the stage with the superstar during her recent American Idol performance in L.A.

The indisputably hot and hunky Casper has apparently performed with Beyonce (at the 2010 Grammy Awards) and even the late Michael Jackson (on his “This Is It” tour). Hot indeed. After weeks of speculation–and some pretty incriminating photos, Jessica Simpson finally let the cat out of the bag–she’s preggo! And in usual (cray-cray) form, she decided to make her big announcement on Halloween, dressed up as a mummy (get it?) for the occasion and show off her baby bump to the world. “It’s true! I am going to be a mummy!” she exclaimed on her official website Monday afternoon. Both Jessica and her fiancé, former pro football player Eric Johnson, who she began dating in May of last year, are reportedly thrilled to be expecting their first child. Can you say, “cart before the horse?” She told People.com back in November after Eric proposed, “I definitely see myself having a family with him, so that’s exciting to think about.” Jess and Eric’s bundle of joy won’t be the first grandchild for Joe and Tina Simpson, who became grandparents in November 2008 when their youngest daughter Ashlee and her ex-husband Pete Wentz gave birth to son Bronx.

To top things off, Jessica “gave birth to another baby of sorts” this week–she launched a new personalized skin care line called BeautyMint, the newest addition to her billion dollar empire.  When you think about it, the endeavor makes perfect sense, particularly since the fashion mogul has had her own acne issues over the years. “It’s a project that’s very close to my heart, and we’ve been working on it for some time,” she noted. Say what you will, but girlfriend is having all her cake and eating it too. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber may well be deemed the cutest couple on the planet. The teen duo are constantly spotted out and about engaging in virtually endless acts of PDA (ah teen love). Just this weekend they were snapped smooching it up in a VIP box for the Winnipeg Jets vs. Carolina Hurricanes hockey game game in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada Saturday night, with both of them wearing team jerseys. Selena has concert dates through Canada all this week, and will be appearing at the Bell Centre, where the hockey game took place, on October 30.

And, as if that weren’t enough, according to People Mag, the superstar teen couple just adopted a puppy together over the weekend– a husky mix named Baylor! The pair recently stopped by D’Arcy’s Animal Rescue Centre in Winnipeg, Canada where they fell in love with their new furry little friend.”They spent a lot of time with the puppies,” D’Arcy Johnston, the rescue’s chief executive officer, told the mag. “I was told that [Selena] was missing the dogs that she has at home.” She reportedly owns five rescue dogs. “I wasn’t expecting her to adopt a dog while she was on tour and has a busy schedule,” Johnston said. “Baylor probably would have had a bad life or a very short life, but he got rescued and brought to our shelter and is now going to live a very good life.” Baylor’s in for a good life indeed with this power couple.
