Kinda hard to imagine the movie Arthur without Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli. But the upcoming re-make of the classic (hits theaters April 8th) starring Russell Brand and our fave pouty princess Jennifer Garner is sure to be a treat. In the re-imagining of this rom-com, Russell plays irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach who has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren). He faces his biggest challenge–choosing between an arranged marriage to an affluent socialite, played by Jen, that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi (Greta Gerwig), the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi’s inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur takes the most expensive risk of his life and finally learns what it means to become a man.
While filming the movie, Russell recently divulged that Jennifer gives the phrase “sweet kisses” a whole new meaning, saying that during their smooch scenes, her mouth tasted like red-velvet cake. Hmmm… sweet, yet disturbing, and so Russell.
Jen can also be seen in the soon-to-be released film Butter opposite Olivia Wilde, Ashley Greene, and Hugh Jackman. The curious plot of the film centers around a young orphan who discovers her uncanny talent for butter carving in an Iowa town where her adoptive family lives. The talent pits her against the ambitious wife (Jen) of the reigning champion in the annual butter-carving competition.
