Whitney Port in Christian Dior Sunglasses

It was tough to miss Whitney Port at New York’s Fashion Week last month, thanks to her bold outfits. The Hills alum / fashion designer is hard to miss under normal circumstances since she’s so gorgeous to begin with, but she made quite a statement stepping out in the Big Apple wearing an olive green blouse with a bright A-line yellow skirt—definitely a daring combination. It was also a total 180 from the outfit Whit was photographed sporting in L.A. last week, a baggy blue tee and what appeared to be pajama pants. Guess that’s proof that even the stars have their moments.

When asked about the inspiration for her latest design collection, Whitney told the press, “This lifestyle of the L.A. girl mixed with the New York girl, which is what I find myself being constantly,” and even offered a bit of style advice for all us regular, non-jet-setting girls out there. “It’s not necessarily about what everyone else is wearing or what’s on trend or what the celebrities are wearing. If it doesn’t work for you, you don’t have to go with it.” These adorable Christian Dior sunglasses definitely work for Whitney and we’re glad she decided to go with them. The glam cat-eye shades can easily add a bit of vintage yet modern funkiness to any outfit.

Brad Pitt in Rectangular-Framed Gradient Sunglasses

Brad’s certainly been out and about over the past couple weeks promoting his new movie Moneyball which hits theaters this Friday. But he’s also been busy putting his foot in his mouth due to a candid interview he did in Parade magazine where he talked of his “boring” life prior to falling in love with partner and baby-mama (6 times over), Angelina Jolie. He chatted about his uninteresting existence during his marriage to Jennifer Aniston: “… It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.” (ruh-roh) Though he immediately released a statement to try and smooth things over, the damage had already been done.

He conversely gushed about Angelina: “One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mom. She is such a great mom. Oh, man, I’m so happy to have her.” Guess you can’t blame a man for speaking from the heart–especially when he’s oozing heartthrob in these distinguished rectangular-framed shades with gradient lenses.  –rpuccia

Kim Kardashian in Christian Dior Sunglasses

You may be sick of the Kardashian marketing machine but you secretly can’t help but respect, as do we, their business savvy. Kardash matriarch, Kris, turned her embarrassing “stress incontinence” condition (ahem, pee pee leaking due to child bearing) into an endorsement deal with Poise panty liners, for peet’s sake! Now the three K-sis’ have just launched the Kardashian Kollection at Sears which hit stores and the website just yesterday. The line is super-affordable–priced at $22 to $99–without sacrificing the couture flair synonymous with Kim, Kourtney and Khloe’s fashion-obsessive style exploits. And while the collection is less expensive than most of the gals’ couture costs, the pieces actually do look like garments they would wear. The line features affordable dresses, jumpsuits, jewelry, accessories, and footwear…pretty much everything a girl could want. Some of the standouts include a leopard-print jumpsuit, black-and-white one-shoulder dress, and fancy spiked heels.

Of course the timing of the collection is perfect–all eyes will be on Kim in a couple weeks as she gets hitched (on TV of course) to B-baller Kris Humphries in an elaborate, marketing-opp-filled extravaganza in Santa Barbara, CA. Oh, and did we mention that when she hits the alter, she’ll be wearing a fragrance of her own creation called Love by Kim Kardashian of which a limited-run of about 1000 crystal-encrusted bottles will be made available to fans for purchase at $100 a pop? Gwyneth Paltrow in Christian Dior Sunglasses

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more inspirational force than Gwyneth Paltrow. So it’s hard to believe she’s gotten so much flack recently for reinventing herself as an expert in food, nutrition, cooking, lifestyle, country music, and fashion. In the latest issue of Elle mag (due on newsstands August 16) she explains why she started her (semi-controversial) GOOP blog, her future music plans, and more. Her music endeavors include the likes of Beyonce and Jay[-Z] urging her to do a solo album on her own–”They think I should go … in a studio and see what happens. And if it’s good, do it. And if it’s not, don’t. So that’s probably what I’ll do.” She adds that having a musical genius in the house (she compares hubby and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to “living with Picasso”) inspires her to “make a little something-something.” In the telling Elle interview, GP squashes false rumors of a split with Chris. “Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time. We go through periods that aren’t all rosy,” she says. But she goes on to say that she made such a good choice with Chris and that he’s a great dad to their children Apple and Moses. “I’m not going to take this for granted.”

The 38-year-old beauty also dishes on her decision to launch the lifestyle blog GOOP back in 2008. She quips, “When you go to Paris and your concierge sends you to some … restaurant because they get a kickback, it’s like, no. Where should I really be? Where is the great bar with organic wine? Where do I get a bikini wax in Paris? People know that I know that…” She insists that what she loves is inspiring people. Her 7-year marriage may have ended, and she’s now facing a new life as a single mother to two young children, but in her first interview since announcing that she and Marc Anthony are getting divorced, JLo tells Vanity Fair that she truly still believes in love. “It’s still my biggest dream,” she says in the magazine’s September issue. The pop star, actress, and American Idol judge insists that she and her estranged husband both tried at their relationship, but in the end they simply didn’t succeed. “I really worked hard at it. We both did. Sometimes it doesn’t work — and that’s sad,” she explains. “But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.”

Since the couple called it quits last month, reports have emerged of Anthony being an envious and controlling husband, going so far as to have the final say over his wife’s wardrobe choices. Though she doesn’t go into details, she does hint at the fact that she, indeed, deserved better. “Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.” She adds that she’ll always respect Marc as a singer, performer, and most importantly as the father of her children. Sunglasses Trends: Turn on the Brights

Getting lost behind stand-by black shades is so yesterday. Now it’s all about eye-poppin’ electric-bold color. And everyone can use a shot of pizzaz in their closet, right? The key this season is to avoid the juvenile, novelty-shaped (e.g. stars and slats), solid fluorescent styles ala 1980. Instead go for the richness of vintage cat-eyes or statement-making oversized glam styles in transparent, see-through brights that give a softer, more sophisticated hit of color. Gwen Stefani in Blingy Shield-Style Sunglasses

Style maven Gwen Stefani is bringing two of her biggest loves — kids and clothes — together in a sweet new clothing line for Target focused on babies, toddlers and tweens, called Harajuku Mini.  Gwen’s already got two designer fashion labels under her belt with L.A.M.B. (an upscale womenswear collection)  and Harajuku Lovers (a line of fragrances and accessories), but the mother of two is adding to her arsenal with this pint-sized spin-off of her Harajuku collection. And the fact that the collection will be affordably priced between $3.99 and $29.99 (yay!) is the cherry on top. Gwen indisputably dresses two of the hippest tots in Hollywood, and now her fans can score rockstar clothes for their own kids without breaking the bank.

“Harajuku Mini is a dream come true,” Gwen recently told Women’s Wear Daily. “I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.” Gwen goes on to say that the whole idea behind the line is to be creative, express your own individuality, and have fun getting dressed. It’s hard not to adore E-News host-with-the-most, Giuliana Rancic. Her quirky bluntness, approachable humor, and ability to not take herself so seriously make her infinitely engaging.  On their reality show Giuliana & Bill, she and her husband, Apprentice winner Bill Rancic, have spoken candidly about their struggle to conceive. Now she just recently divulged that they’re officially taking a hiatus from “actively trying” to have a baby. “[Having a baby is] always in the back of my mind,” she told USA Today. “But we’re not actively trying.” While the pair still want a child, they agreed it was time for a break–and to have some fun. According to Giuliana, Bill responded to the last round of disappointing baby news by saying, “You know what? Let’s get back to who we are and have a year of fun.” The couple agreed to spend time doing all the things that are tough to do with a baby, such as traveling and enjoying wine. An awesome outlook for a truly awesome couple.

Though Giuliana admitted she felt “vulnerable” sharing her struggle to have a baby with the world, she also found it rewarding. “This guy came up to me, and he was like, ‘Oh, I just want to thank you and your husband. You inspire my wife. She’s going through IVF, and we know we’re not alone,’ It’s really nice [to inspire others],” she said. Christina Aguilera in Glam Oversized Red Sunglasses

Xtina literally bares all in the latest issue of W mag. Not only does the 30-year-old singer pose rather provocatively for the feature, but she opens up about the incredibly rough year she’s had–which included canceling a concert tour due to low ticket sales, getting divorced from music producer Jordan Bratman, flubbing the lyrics to the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl, and being arrested with her current boyfriend Matt Rutler for being “extremely intoxicated”. “I don’t mean to martyr myself, but I think I was a victim of celebrity,” Christina tells the mag of the incident. “I don’t drive, I wasn’t driving, and I committed no crimes, but they put me in jail.” (hmmm)

But things are looking up for our embattled diva. Her latest gig as a  judge/mentor on the new reality singing competition The Voice, was met with critical success and the show has become an instant hit. And her relationship with Matt, who she met while filming Burlesque, is going as strong as ever. Christina says of her man, “He was so supportive — and he still is. We’ve been through a lot in the past year.” Through it all, she says ultimately “I have to be myself.” And she is certainly her diva-self in these ultra-fab oversized red sunglasses with open temples.  –rpuccia

Gwen Stefani in Christian Dior Sunglasses

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly (on newsstands now), Gwen Stefani makes a shocking revelation. We haven’t heard a whole lot from her musically in a while. In fact, it’s been five years since she released her last solo effort, The Sweet Escape. And there’s a reason why–she’s calling her solo career quits! Both of her solo albums — Love, Angel, Music, Baby and The Sweet Escape — spawned several radio hits, and the former, even helped launch the phrase “Hollaback Girl” into this generation’s vocabulary. “That was a moment in time,” she tells EW. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [but] everything works out how it should.” Plus who’s got the time–she’s busy taking care of hubby Gavin Rossdale and their two adorable tots, Kingston and Zuma.

Not to worry, though, in the new EW issue, Gwen and the boys of No Doubt, including guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal, and drummer Adrian Young, reveal their future plans for the band. (Hmmm … sounds like an album or tour dates may be dropping soon!). We’ll certainly miss the solo version of Gwen, (how can we resist spelling out “B-A-N-A-N-A-S” every time we’re in the produce aisle), but we can always count on her to continue to inspire us with her flawless style, e.g., these fab Christian Dior oversized shades available in four frame hues.  –rpuccia
