For men’s eyewear, we noticed that sunglasses are becoming small and chic rather than oversized and opulent. The only details they may have is a metallic brow on an acetate frame. The shapes are classic – square or round – and so are the colors. Timeless is the word to best describe what men are wearing at Fashion Week this season.

Since it’s Fashion Week after all, you see interesting outfits wherever you look. Some people are into statement accessories – such as shield-like eyewear, and they bring it into the streets like it’s nobody’s business. Honestly, we’d rather keep this look on the runway and in Daft Punk posters, but you have to credit this girl for being so bold.

Another timeless trend we noticed are tortoiseshell sunglasses. Whether they’re round combined with a metallic brow, or oversized cat eyes, tortoiseshell frames flatter any skin tone and are easy to match with everyday looks. The girl in the second picture is wearing Prada PR29 PS sunglasses ($282).

Clear sunglasses are also having a moment. The acetate frames made of transparent plastic are as cool as it gets, and this particular model is even better with the golden arms. The angular shape is retro inspired, but as fashionable as can be.

Olivia Palermo is a woman of many looks, but we love the rather rough outfit she put on for a show in London. The starlet paired her Alexander Wang leather skirt with stilettos, a leather jacket and mirror lens sunglasses, which is edgier than what we’re used to seeing her in. Our verdict: well played.

Sometimes classic is best: small, angular sunglasses in neutral colors go with everything and they don’t stand out. This first woman pictured is wearing Tom Ford sunglasses with a red lip, while blogger and model Hanneli Mustaparta let her outfit shine by wearing plain black sunnies.

Liam Hemsworth in Persol sunglasses

Liam Hemsworth leaves the gym in a navy t-shirt and camel pants, with his signature Persol sunglasses, and carrying his sports equipment in his hands. Sources claim that Liam's brothers, Chris and Luke, staged an intervention for their famous sibling, regarding his long engagement to Miley Cyrus. And, apparently, it worked! While neither party released an official statement, unofficial ones are a never-ending gossip source. “They are definitely over,” someone told Us Magazine. However, just because they've been spending time apart and working on their careers doesn't necessarily mean they are over. They are, after all, both very young! “I don't have time go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't. I'd rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him. And then I'm at the studio all day. He gets up to work out at six and I come home at five from the studio,” Cyrus said in an interview earlier this year. Could it be just that?

Suzie Bird in Prada sunglasses

Model Suzie Bird looks dashing in an all black look, with skinny jeans, flat booties and a cape on the streets of the city. However, Bird opted for one special accessory: her white Prada sunglasses from the Minimal Baroque collection of 2011. Originally named Sandra Plassard, the French model changed her name to appeal to a larger audience at the beginning of her career. “It was clear from the start the girl had huge potential. I shot some test pictures of her, recommended her to some agents and she got very fast to the Italian Vogue. Twice,” photographer Mara Zampariolo said about her. The 23 year old has appeared in the magazine in 2009 for the first time, and has since been a regular. She's been the face of Temperley, Les Petites, Jason Wu for Target and Paul Smith. We definitely think she's going places!

Will Arnett in round sunglasses

Will Arnett is sharp in a camel suit and round sunglasses, using the fire extinguisher on a smoking hot bikini lady. The reason? His photo shoot for GQ magazine, just as the new season of Arrested Development is out, all 15 episodes at once. About his character on the show, Gob, the actor says: “Even on Arrested Development, as absurd as it is, you always bring some of your own stuff, on an emotional level, to the character… Boy, I hate saying that: ‘to the character.’” The actor also confesses that he feels close to Jason Bateman, after so many years of working together: [He] is like my brother and that makes it easy for us to have this complicated brother-like relationship on the show. You know, Jason and I love each other. I mean, he loves me and I like him,” he jokes.

Elle Fanning in Persol sunglasses

Elle Fanning shows off her fashion sense in a white maxi skirt, a camo print shirt, Persol sunglasses and a Valentino studded bag, as she has a cup of Starbucks coffee. What were you doing when you were 15?! Together with her older sister, Dakota Fanning, Elle signed the papers for a collaboration with another couple of famous sisters, the ones behind Rodarte (Kate and Laura Mulleavy). Rumor has it that the foursome will design a line together – and we wouldn't be surprised, with the Fanning sisters being so involved in fashion from a young age (Elle was in a Marc Jacobs campaign at just 13!). Fanning's latest flick involves Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), and it's called Low Down. The movie tells the story of Joe Albany, a jazz player who fought a drug addiction during the 60s and 70s. The story is told through his daughter's eyes – none other than fanning.
