The entire world is mourning Elizabeth Taylor, and Paris Hilton was among her millions of fans. “So sad to hear about Elizabeth Taylor. She was so beautiful, such an inspiration and an icon. She was an amazing humanitarian and brought smiles to everyone around the world. She was always so sweet to me and I will really miss her. I’ve always loved this picture of her and Nicky Hilton. They were such a stunning couple,” Paris tweeted and wrote on her blog alongside a photo of Liz and Nicky. Many people failed to realize that the hotel heiress had a family connection to the late screen star and hardworking philanthropist, but her grand-uncle Nicholas Conrad “Nicky” Hilton Jr. was one of Liz’s many husbands.

Paris, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday, has instructed her attorneys to take legal action against an author who claims that she made racial comments during an interview. Excerpts from Neil Strauss’ book Everyone Loves You When You’re Dead: Journeys Into Fame and Madness have begun appearing online, and the author claims that everyone’s favorite blonde heiress supposedly made controversial comments about her love life during a 1999 interview. Paris’ people are adamant she never made the remarks, and her rep has issued a statement saying “These allegations are absolutely untrue … it’s another example of someone making false claims for financial gain.” Despite the legal hoopla (then again, when your name is Paris Hilton you’re probably used that stuff happening) Paris is looking sleek and sexy as always in a pair of Chloe sunglasses, carrying a furry friend down the street. Katie’s had enough and she’s not taking it anymore. She announced Tuesday that she’s suing the publishers of Star Magazine for 50M smackeroos, accusing them of libel over a cover that insinuated she was a drug addict. The actress filed the lawsuit against American Media Inc. in federal court in Los Angeles saying a January cover that featured the headline “Katie DRUG SHOCKER!” was false and not supported by the actual story in the magazine. The cover featured a disheveled picture of Katie, and the story itself claimed she was “trapped in a cycle of addictive treatments,” based on interviews with former Scientology members. Her lawyer, Bert Fields said in a written statement “Star Magazine’s malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful.” He went on to say that the story not only defames the former Dawson Creek darling, but looks to deceive the public by making ridiculously false claims on the cover that are completely unsupported by the content inside. The complaint also contends the cover story implies that she’s splitting from husband Tom Cruise–also untrue (what a shocker, right?).

Well, Star Magazine isn’t exactly taking the news of the lawsuit lying down–even if Katie and Tom are one of the most powerful duos in Tinsel Town. They are reportedly standing by their story and said that it raises significant concerns about Church of Scientology practices, including the use of e-meters, devices that practitioners believe detect mental trauma. “Our attorneys look forward to deposing Ms. Holmes about her experiences with Scientology and the e-meter, and expect that the case will be promptly dismissed by the court,” the statement said.

TomKat aren’t the only Hollywood heavyweights who’ve recently had difficulty with cases against tabloids. In February, a federal judge dismissed claims by David Beckham against In Touch magazine over claims he cheated on his wife with a prostitute, citing “first amendment rights.”  While we wait with baited breath for the verdict, Katie’s certainly on her high horse in these fab Chloe wayfarer-style shades, which come in four elegant two-tone frame hues.  –rpuccia

Kim Kardashian in Chloe Sunglasses

You would think being a reality star-turned-designer-turned-producer-turned-author-turned-entrepreneur would be enough. Not for Kimmie Kardashian. Now she’s looking to add “pop sensation” to her already lengthy resume. Citing that she wanted to do something that she had never done before–something that was out of her  comfort zone–Kim explained that the track, produced by legendary hit maker The-Dream (the man behind Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”), is a pop dance song debuting “in about three weeks.” The starlet describes herself as a talented vocalist saying, “I have a cute little voice.” Better let us be the judge of that. Though she’s indicated she’s not looking to launch a full-fledged singing career, she caveats, “You never know what would happen but as of right now I’m not thinking about that. It’s just a fun song.”

But wait, there’s more. She may also be adding “mobster wife” on the big screen to the CV. According to multiple reports, Kim is in talks to play the role of Kim Gotti, the daughter-in-law of the late New York mafia don, in the upcoming John Gotti biopic, which has John Travolta attached in the lead role. The real-life Kim G. is married to John Gotti Jr., who is reportedly producing the movie. Does this diva ever stop? Save the Children Artist Ambassador Julianne Moore helped Kimora Lee Simmons kick off Bounty’s 3rd Annual Make a Clean Difference Program on February 18, 2011, visiting an elementary school in New York City to help students clean their classrooms. Helping kids is nothing new to Julianne- although the gorgeous mom of two (she has a son, Caleb and a daughter, Liv Helen, with hubby director Bart Freundlich) has been an actress for nearly 30 years, she’s said in interviews that she chooses roles in movies that film in the summertime so her family can accompany her.

Julianne had a few bit parts before she was cast in the dual roles of Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on the long-running soap opera As the World Turns in 1985, winning a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on the show. She began her successful film career in the early ‘90s with roles in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Benny & Joon, The Fugitive, Nine Months and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. She was honored with Oscar noms for Boogie Nights, The End of the Affair, The Hours and Far from Heaven.

Variety reports that the talented redhead is set to star in the big-screen version of Jane Mendelsohn’s vampire novel Innocence with 14-year old Abigail Breslin of Little Miss Sunshine and My Sister’s Keeper fame. Julianne was recently seen flashing her pearly whites in a pair of divalicious Chloe sunglasses. Montreal-born actress Rachelle Lefevre is probably best known for tackling the role of red-haired, cat-like vampire Victoria in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but the Canadian cutie can also be seen gracing the small screen as Dr. Ryan Clark on ABC’s new medical drama Off the Map. Created by the executive producers of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, the series is set in a remote South American village where seven doctors search for the reasons that brought each of them to medicine. The show debuted on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at 10 PM to an audience of 7.57 million viewers—the network’s highest viewed telecast in that time slot since the premiere of Eastwick on September 23, 2009 and its second episode on September 30, 2009. Not bad at all!

You can also catch blonde, gorgeous Rachelle as Clara in Barney’s Version, a 2010 Canadian film based on the novel of the same name by Mordecai Richler. Nominated for the Golden Lion at the 67th Venice International Film Festival, the movie has received positive reviews, grossing $472,892 in Canada and $285,213 in the United States.

Lauren just got some seriously bummin’ news this last week. Her return to the the small screen has been officially nixed. MTV has decided not to go forward with the new reality series starring the heroine of The Hills and Laguna Beach as previously announced last September. “We decided not to go ahead with the show,” MTV exec David Janollari said of the show, which was supposed to focus on Conrad’s upcoming fashion line –Paper Crown–a dressier, pricier collection than her current Kohls pieces. The intended series was going to be a world away from the drama and cat-fights of The Hills. Therein lies the problem.

Well, needless to say Lauren didn’t take the news too kindly. She fired back in a statement that insinuated MTV wanted more of her “personal relationships” incorporated into the show, and underestimated how “savvy” her fans were. She whined: “We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life.” Whoa.  She added that the intent of the show was to be aspirational, not to air the sordid details of her personal relationships and is sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it. A pilot was shot and MTV is considering interesting scenarios to air it. Honestly, though, to MTV’s defense, the American public has been known to love some down-n-dirty, juicy drama.
