Celebrities wearing Gucci sunglasses
Celebrities are getting ready to kick off awards season at the famous LA gala on November 2.
Gucci was definitely the star of the evening, because we’ve seen looks from their latest collections on Evan Rachel Wood, Amy Adams, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Seldana, Kate Hudson, Rosie Huntington Whitely, Mary J Blidge and basically everyone else. The brand actually sponsors the event. The 2013 edition honored artist David Hockney and filmmaker Martin Scorsese, and it featured a Sting gig.
While we wait for Dakota Johnson‘s yet unknown partner in 50 Shades of Gray, we get a glimpse at the actress’ style at the gala on Saturday. Johnson wore a Gucci gown from the Fall 2013 collection: gold, black, mesh and feathers really made her stand out. It was a bit goth, but still glam. You can tell that she comes from Hollywood parents…
Amy Adams looked sparkly in a copper strapless knee length dress that perfectly complemented her skin tone and hair color. The actress was accompanied by her partner, Darren Le Gallo, who looked dapper in a bowtie. A smaller amount of sparkle, but with way more mesh, was seen on Zoe Seldana, who wore a black and green Gucci gown. Also, no underwear. How very brave.
We loved seeing lighter colors on the red carpet, as was the case with the two Kates: Beckinsale and Hudson. The former went for a pale blue sequin Gucci gown, strapless and very mermaid like. The latter went for a surprise back to her… surprise front. Her nude and sequin Gucci gown featured a deep cleavage, an open back and cutout sides, which made her appearance sexy as can be.
or is the face of the new sunglasses range.
Known as a big fan of < a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.glassesonweb.com/catalog/Gucci_abgg/sunglasses" target="_blank">Gucci eyewear – he even wore them in Spring Breakers – James Franco is now the face of the brand, for the fall winter 2013 campaign. The campaign was shot at the beginning of summer in Los Angeles, by Mert & Marcus, and it features Franco in a red hot convertible and denim shirt, wearing the new range of Black Bamboo shades, which seem to be very much his style. The line will be released this month, and it's meant to complement the range of bamboo accessories Gucci brought in for the cold season.
Asked by Elle magazine to define his personal style, Franco said: “Casual. Beatnik. Rugged. Jack Kerouac”. He also mentioned that he's most attracted to colors such as gray, dark brown, light blue and light yellow, and that Valentino is his favorite pop icon. After As I Lay Dying and Child of God, Franco is taking his next step as a director with a biopic about Sal Mineo, the supporting actor in Rebel Without a Cause. Mineo was one of the first openly gay Hollywood actors, and was murdered in his apartment in 1976. Franco played James Dean in a 2001 TV movie on the topic, which made him feel closer to the subject. Even though the movie has been finished since 2011, it's only now being released in the States.
Sunglasses trends straight from Fashion Week.
New York, London and Milan have already hosted their bi-annual fashion weeks. There's only Paris left, and we've already noticed some trends. Let's start with Roberto Cavalli, who showed a very delicate, '20s inspired collection, quite unusual for the house's opulent style. The sunglasses, however, we're modern as can be: mirror aviators, with details at the temples that made for a steampunk look.

Moschino had a very diverse presentation, with models of all ages, some more famous than others. The whole collection was a mix of trends, and we liked seeing the '50s inspired cat eye glasses. Both sunglasses and eyeglasses were shaped like this, the former having embellishments all around, and the latter being more simple.
Anna Sui decided on a futuristic look, with an exaggerated cat eye shape with strong details at the sides and nose bridge. The sunglasses complemented the boho-chic collection, and they remind us of Uma Thurman's role as Poison Ivy.
The impressive Burberrry Prorsum collection was based on pretty pastels and lace. The sunglasses, however, were a bit rough: white, oval shaped, wide and short. They did look great on the perfect bone structure of models, but we can't help but wonder how they'd translate in real life.

The DKNY collection came with lots of denim and monochrome looks. The sunglasses, also monochrome, were simple and classic: trendy, without being too obvious.

Fendi put on a great show, based on gradient colors. The sunglasses, however, are metallic and round, with sharp crystals at the sides that turns the shape into cat eye. That's definitely something new, and something that will catch one with fashionistas.

At Gucci, the whole collection was colored in rich, jewel tones, sunglasses included. The style on the runway is oversized and angular, with a dark upper rim and lighter sides. The purple lenses have a interesting effect – and we kind of missed them in sunglasses!

Marc by Marc Jacobs caught our eye (pun intended) with a pair of warm colored rimless sunglasses. They're butterfly shaped, with just a few visible screws, and they make a great contrast with the tern color of the trench coat they're shown with.

Ralph Lauren mixed up their usual preppy style with quite unusual sunglasses: oversized, black, shield shaped and completely unwearable. Perhaps during ski season?

Marc Jacobs accessorized his spring collection with a classic: round, keyhole sunglasses in burgundy. Honestly, it's refreshing to see something so simple and wearable on the runway, every once in a while.

The singer/actress is close to her home for an interview with W Magazine.
J.Lo covers W Magazine this August, and she looks as glamorous as we would expect for a Hollywood Hall of Fame star. With black hair, a mesh dress and feathers galore, inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in Butterfield 8, the 43 year old is a stunner. What’s also pretty amazing is her interview: very close to the Bronx, the actress reminisces growing up in a two story house, where she would share a room with her two sisters, her being the middle child. A fond memory is her looking out the window to see whether her boyfriend at the time would come, and then running to the door to greet him. But it hasn’t all been pleasant memories: the last time she entered that house, it was when her parents announced their divorce after 33 years of marriage. Now she’s nervous about such news and would rather not go in.
Lopez confesses to the magazine that she left home when she was 18, to pursue a dancing career. Even though her mother didn’t agree, she did it anyway, and in a year’s time she was already in LA. Everything she has, she gained through hard work, following her parents’ example. And that is what she wants to pass on to her kids, 5 year old twins Max and Emme.
Lopez takes them with her, and boyfriend Casper Smart, on the road. Pictured here, they’re all walking together and she looks like a protective mom, but also like a gorgeous latina woman. Wearing a top bun and Gucci sunglasses, a tunic and denim cutoffs, Lopez is positively incredible.

The star gave birth to her second child, Ace, on June 30th.
Jessica Simpson is known to have been joking about being pregnant all the time: she just gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew in May of last year, and now her second child has seen the light of the world. She didn’t even get the chance to get married between babies! Ace Knute was born on June 30th, 2013, through a scheduled C-section at an LA hospital. The two kids are barely one year apart, which we think is gonna make them pretty close as they grow up! The 32 year old Fashion Star host and her 33 year old fiance, Eric Johnson, are both super excited to welcome their newborn into the world. Simpson previously revealed the sex of her baby, by accident, live on Jimmy Kimmel. We’ve known she’s going to have a boy ever since – and we also found out that having a boy made the star sicker than during the first pregnancy, when she had a girl. However, this time around, she tried her best to keep her weight under control, since she’s been campaigning for Weight Watchers after trying to get right of her first pregnancy’s extra pounds. If you have a look at the above picture, you see a relatively slim looking Jessica Simpson, all chic in her all black ensemble with wedge boots, an it-bag and Gucci sunglasses. She’s definitely doing something right! We love that she’s wearing these sunglasses so much – they look so good with her blonde locks!
