It’s been an exciting year for hunky, boy-band alum Nick Lachey. He recently married long-time love Vanessa Minillo back in July and just announced they’re having a baby this fall. Now this dad-to-be is reportedly getting set to hit the road with his old boy bandmates from 98 Degrees–fellow Ohio-natives Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, and bro Drew Lachey. Popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s for hits like “Because of You” and “If She Only Knew, 98 Degrees is said to be planning a fifteen-city reunion tour slated for this summer.
But for now, he’s focused on becoming a dad. “This is the one thing that more than any other I’ve looked forward to, and it’s overwhelming,” Nick said on Live! With Kelly after announcing his wife’s pregnancy. During his appearance on Live! he described the moment he found out: “She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas,” he said of discovering the big news. “She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. You have to admit, after Kim K. got flour-bombed on the red carpet while promoting her new fragrance at the London Hotel in West Hollywood last week, her reaction was pretty surprising. Instead of going straight-up diva (as we may have expected), she had a pretty good attitude about it. She literally dusted herself off (well her mom did with a blow dryer) and headed right back out on the carpet to finish her event with head held high. She told E! online: “That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that ever happened to me.”
But now that Kim has had a chance to mull over what happened realizing the incident could have been much more serious, she may be changing her tune and is considering filing charges against the flour-wielding woman. “I think, ‘What if that was some other substance? What if that person had a dangerous weapon? It’s scary,” she told E!. She continued that what scares her even more is that the woman acted as if she was a part of the press–she just came out of nowhere. Kim explained, “I said earlier no I wasn’t [going to file a complaint] I am just going to think about it, because I don’t want someone to think they can really get away with that.” Adding, “I’m gonna definitely deal with it because it is not acceptable.” Can’t say we blame her on this one. Another Hollywood couple has bitten the dust–Jennie Garth of Bev Hills 90210 fame and actor Peter Facinelli, the Twilight series “Cullen” patriarch, announced they are divorcing last week after 11 years of marriage. The couple–who met on the set of the 1996 TV movie An Unfinished Affair and wed in 2001–announced the news after rumors started really swirling when Peter hit the Hunger Games premiere red carpet–sans Jennie AND his wedding band–bringing middle daughter Lola instead. The couple has two other daughters, Luca and Fiona. Their announcement also squashed talk that any “third parties” led to the split: “There are rumors out there which are completely untrue and hurtful to our family,” Jennie and Peter told Us Weekly in a statement. “We just want to make it very clear, there are no third parties involved.”
In a recent clip posted on ETOnline, Jennie opened up about the painful split from the Breaking Dawn actor and the prospect of raising her three daughters as a single mom. “Being out here on my own with the girls is not going to be easy, but I know it’s the right thing for us right now,” she said. Head-turning nude baby bump cover photo for a high fashion magazine (April issue of Elle mag hits newsstands March 30th), check. Choose really cool baby girl name (Maxwell-Maxi for short), check. Throw a fab, celeb-filled baby shower soiree, check. On Sunday, Jessica crossed yet another “must-do” off her preggo list, as she was joined by more than 50 of her close friends and family, including her Texas kin and stars like Ellen Pompeo, Simpson’s sister Ashlee Simpson and Jessica Alba for a pink-and-yellow-themed baby bash held in L.A. The event–organized by celeb party planner Mindy Weiss–was reportedly a co-ed and “kid friendly shower” with many of the guests bringing their own babies. Tube-shaped balloons and spring tulips filled the venue and she received tons of gifts mostly wrapped in pink gift wrap and boxes including books, stuffed toys, clothes, and more.
She also took the opportunity to deck out her baby bump in a clingy, light blue snakeskin-print dress with ruffles. The Fashion Star judge accessorized with cute boho-style braids. As she and fiance Eric Johnson get closer to the day they will finally get to meet their daughter, the first-time mom insists she’s not scared — even though doctors have estimated the little girl’s birth weight to be approximately 10 pounds. (ouch!) “I figure if all these women all around the world can do it, I can do it,” she said. It’s no secret that pop superstar Rihanna is besties with Katy Perry (RiRi even threw Katy a Vegas bachelorette bash for her ill-fated marriage to Russell brand back in September 2010), but the big question remains when will these gorgeous pals collaborate in the studio? “We have been working on this for years. We still are trying to make a song together, Katy Perry and I,” Rihanna recently told Access Hollywood correspondent Jill Martin on the set of a photo shoot for Vita Coco’s new flavor, Tropical Fruit by Rihanna. “She is one of my favorite musicians, as well as one of my favorite people in the industry.” RiRi added that Katy’s uncalculated and very sure of herself which are very rare traits in the music biz.
She assures fans that while a RiRi/Katy hit is definitely in the works, they’ll have to be patient. “I won’t say that it’s happening right now, but it’s going to happen.” As for her own music, the 24-year-old Battleship star is taking her time to develop the style for her next album, while dabbling in fashion. “Actually, I have not started working on new music. I’ve started working on the new sound, but I haven’t started really recording yet,” she said, when asked when she’ll return to the studio to record new music. “This year, we’ve kind of left a little room to play in other playing fields, like movies, acting [and] fashion. I’m getting into fashion a lot more, really spearheading it as a designer.” We can’t wait to see how the fashion endeavor plays out! Charlize has just become a member of the Single-Hollywood-Moms club announcing yesterday that she’s adopted a son. The gorgeous Oscar winning actress’s rep announced that she “is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson,” putting her in the company with a slew of actresses who have adopted a child as a single mother, including Sandra Bullock, Connie Britton, and Kristin Davis. Little Jackson–who was born in the US and is of African-American descent–is the first child for the South African-born beauty. She’s currently single following a nine-year relationship with actor Stuart Townsend which ended in 2010.
Although she has said marriage was not necessarily at the top of her to-do list, being a mother has been. “I want a baby,” she revealed last August. “If it would happen tomorrow I would be very happy.” Hinting at the time of her desire to adopt, Charlize added, “There are so many unwanted children on this earth and it’s our job to care for them. Mila Kunis is one of the hottest actresses on the planet right now, but that doesn’t mean guys are falling over themselves to ask her for a date. If she can’t get a date, that doesn’t leave much hope for the rest of us! After ending an eight-year relationship with Macauley Culkin in 2010, the Friends With Benefits beauty has been unattached — and not necessarily complaining about it. “I honestly think being single’s great,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar in the April issue. But she’s quick to add, “Being in a relationship’s great [too]. It’s all about the timing.” But time is what she doesn’t seem to have these days. The actress just wrapped a six-month shoot in Detroit filming Oz the Great and Powerful with hunky James Franco and Michelle Williams playing Theodora, the Wicked Witch of the West, and the time away for filming really affected her dating life. “I don’t get asked out,” she says. “This past year, I haven’t been home, so who’s going to ask me?”
Well, until Mr. Right comes along, Mila is content to hang out at home — by herself. She says she actually prefers to stay home and have a nice little beverage and watch television. “My glass of wine and I are besties.” And she’s not kidding. Although she’s been famous since she landed on That ’70s Show opposite Ashton Kutcher when she was just 14, Mila says she enjoyed a fairly anonymous life until 2010 when The Black Swan was released. And the new-found fame has brought with it some challenges. A mini guido or guidette is on the way–Snooki’s knocked up. After weeks of rumors, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi just confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly (hits newsstands Friday) that she is 15 weeks pregnant–and engaged to her baby-daddy and beau of over a year, Jionni LaValle. Snooki and Jionni–who met in the Jersey Shore mecca of Seaside Heights–both know just what the haters are thinking they told the mag. “I have different priorities now,” reformed party girl Snooki said. “I don’t care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I’m ready and he’s ready.” Adds LaValle: “We are not going to screw this up.” (sounds promising, right?)
The famously pouf-haired realty star discovered the news “right after New Year’s,” she said. Snooki’s first thought? “‘S–t, I’ve been drinking!’ I was worried. It was New Year’s Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy.” she admits. Though they were mum at first, signs were pointing to “big news” back in January when she told People mag, “I know he’s the one so I know the ring’s gonna come soon.” And Jionni was made well aware that he had better be buying one big rock once he decided to put a ring on it. “He knows it should be big, ’cause if it’s small, I’m saying no. It’s hard to believe it’s been just over a year since Demi’s 90-day stint in rehab for a variety of issues including an eating disorder, depression, and cutting. After leaving treatment, the former Disney superstar debated returning to the spotlight. After all, it was the pressures of fame — and the scrutiny that came along with it — that landed her in the position she was in. “I thought, ‘I’m exhausted, people don’t understand and so many people are being negative towards me,’” the 19-year-old says in a new interview with UK’s Metro. “It’s hard. There are so many pressures that are put on you when you’re in the industry. But I love doing it, I love singing. I don’t want to give that up just because the going gets tough.”
Not only is she not giving up, she’ll be sharing her difficult journey with the world in her MTV documentary, Stay Strong, named after the message she got tattooed across her wrists after she left rehab. The hour-long special, which will premiere on March 6, follows the singer behind the scenes as she was promoting her post-rehab album, Unbroken, and still dealing with her issues, which she is very candid about in the doc. “I wanted to share my story, but I knew it had to be honest, it had to be real,” Demi said. She continued: “I have daily challenges, but so do many kids who are struggling to feel comfortable in their own skin. Megan’s the new face of Giorgio Armani’s beauty, fragrance and skincare campaigns, and understandably so–she’s just plain gorgeous. But, surprisingly, Megan revealed in the March issue of Miami mag that she didn’t always feel beautiful. “I was never the pretty girl,” the actress told the mag, describing her teenage self as “abrasive” and “obnoxious.” (wow) She says she felt like a “loner” growing up, especially given that her interests have never been mainstream. “I would love to go on a dig,” explaining her fascination with ancient civilizations — and potential government cover-ups. “Come on! You don’t think everything that’s learned is released to the public, do you?”
