Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Gucci Sunglasses

The highly-anticipated block-bustin’ Fast Five hits theaters tomorrow and wrestler-turned-action star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bulked up for the role (as if it seemed possible for him to get any bigger than in his last flick Faster!).  A newcomer to the Fast and Furious franchise, Dwayne pumped up his already imposing physique by a whopping 30 pounds for the fifth installment in the series. Fast Five finds returning stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walter moving from the world of underground drag racing to rip off a crime lord’s stash in Rio de Janeiro.

To bulk up for this insanely-action-packed heist flick — including his climactic onscreen brawl with Vin Diesel–The Rock stuck to a diet and workout routine that involves weightlifting, curls and a low-carb diet. According to screenwriter Chris Morgan, The Rock is “not a villain, but a man who will do whatever it takes to bring in the series’ outlaws… dead or alive.” To make his character a formidable opponent for the famously-ripped Vin Diesel, he regained much of the extraordinary muscle mass he carried in his wrestling days–weight he had since lost when he made his transition to Hollywood. For much of his movie career–which includes several family films like The Game Plan, Get Smart, Race to Witch Mountain, and the Tooth Fairy–Dwayne was a “slimmer” muscle man. Now he’s nearly returned to his hulking WWF/E days. He’ll be a sight for sore eyes in his new role, as he is here in these sleek Gucci aviators, which come in  seven frame hues. –rpuccia

Michelle Trachtenberg in Chloe Sunglasses

April 14 was a bittersweet day for Michelle Trachtenberg and millions of soap opera fans across the country, who learned that ABC has pulled the plug on two of television’s most beloved daytime series, One Life to Live and All My Children. OLTL debuted in 1968 while 1970 marked the beginning of AMC, which gave first breaks to some of today’s most-popular A-list stars, including Michelle, Kelly Ripa, Josh Duhamel, Christian Slater, Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Like many other style-centric celebs, the utterly adorable Michelle—who has also appeared in Gossip Girl, EuroTrip, Harriet the Spy and 17 Again, just to name a few—is branching out from acting and trying her hand at fashion design. Two projects are in the works, and she dished about the first with Perez Hilton. A capsule collection with Rebecca Taylor that’s set to launch this fall, Michelle described her endeavor as “Just very romantic. The perfect things for ‘ooh what do I wear when I have to go on a movie date’, ‘what do I wear when I’m going on an ocean cruise?’” Her second project is under lock and key, but she says it will be affordable, with all items under $250. Sounds good to babes on a budget! Considering that Michelle’s glam taste in shades definitely can’t be beat, it seems she may be on to something with her foray into fashion design. Her sexy Chloe sunglasses are available in four frame / lens color combinations.

Gwen Stefani in Christian Dior Sunglasses

It’s been five years since Gwen Stefani released her last solo album, but as she prepares to rustle up a musical comeback, the No Doubt front woman, solo artist, fashion designer and mom opened up in the May “Women in Music” issue of ELLE Magazine about balancing her family life with her hectic work schedule. Gwen, mama to sons Kingston and Zuma, says that going on tour is harder now that so many of her fellow No Doubt band members have kids. Tony Kanal, the group’s bassist, recently welcomed a daughter, and  guitarist Tom Dumont recently welcomed a son. “Right now, I can’t picture touring. It’s so physical, and I’d have to prepare for that mentally. I just don’t know how we’re going to do it, because now Kingston is going to be in kindergarten…But I’m so lucky — I mean, who gets to do all this stuff?”

Gwen told the mag that it’s equally important that she and rocker husband Gavin Rossdale make time for their family and each other. The couple married in 2002 and she claims that one of her greatest accomplishments has been to maintain a loving relationship in their marriage. She says of her nine-year marriage, “I feel so proud of us — it’s one of my biggest achievements.” Gwen admits that she channels her experiences as a mother and wife in her music and says she rarely keeps any experiences private. “… I’ve never been a private person. I have to tell everyone everything that’s going on.” The trend-setting fashionista’s really got it “going on” wearing her won’t-leave-the-house -without-it red lipstick, glam Christian Dior oversized cat-eye sunglasses (available in three frame hues), and her ultimate accessory, son Zuma.  –rpuccia

Paris Hilton in Burberry Sunglasses

The world’s love/hate relationship with heiress/socialite Paris Hilton means she has a near-equal amount of fans and foes, and her latest “career” move definitely has some eyebrows rising. No stranger to controversy, Paris is bringing intensity to the small screen yet again with her new Oxygen network reality show, The World According to Paris, thanks to her choice of “co-stars.”

Brooke Mueller, the soon-to-be-ex-wife of Adonis DNA-blessed, Tiger Blood-enhanced Charlie Sheen, has has already been creating tabloid headlines in recent months for her broken relationship and battle with drug addiction. Beginning June 1, she’ll be seen on TV alongside Paris. Paris told PEOPLE magazine, “She’s not afraid to show who she is. She’s not afraid to tell the truth. And as a producer of the show, I love that for TV. I love someone who’s not afraid to show everything.”

It almost smells like a publicity stunt, but Paris insists that the pair “has been friends for years. My mom and her are very close, and she’s one of my good friends as well.” Sounds a bit awkward, especially since Charlie is one of Paris’ neighbors, but she swears that little detail doesn’t impact her relationship with Brooke. Ahh, the life of a celebrity. How do they handle the pressure? Who knows, but one thing’s for sure– Paris looks glam as always in these Burberry sunglasses, which are available in black, white and red.

Jonah Hill in Christian Dior Sunglasses

Photo: Coolspotters.com

Jonah Hill is not your “typical” Hollywood A-lister. But he’s turned his quirkiness into one of the most successful careers in Tinsel Town. The actor/screenwriter has parlayed in such cult-followed comedic films as 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, Evan Almighty, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall–both in front of and behind the camera. His next venture–a reboot of the late ’80′s hit TV show, 21 Jump Street (yeah, the show that put Johnny Depp on the proverbial map). The show went four seasons on Fox (’87-’91) and followed a group of young cops whose youthful appearances enabled them to work undercover in both high schools and sometimes colleges to catch troubled youths. The show’s plots covered typical youth-related issues including alcoholism, hate crimes, drug abuse, homophobia, AIDS, child abuse, and sexual promiscuity. Jonah wrote, produced, and will star in the  remake alongside the impossibly hunky Channing Tatum. The Superbad star even got Johnny Depp to do a cameo in the film.

Jonah describes the film as comedic, but yet full of action-packed scenes with “stuff blowing up.”  He quipped: “Sony execs said they were gonna let me make my kind of movie — an R-rated, insane, “Bad-Boys-meets-John Hughes-type movie.” The comments echo Jonah’s earlier statement to MTV, in which he revealed that Sony allegedly told Hill he’d have full control over the feature. He’s definitely in control here, as he takes a break from his signature Ray Ban Wayfarers in these uber-stylish, star-worthy Christian Dior shades, available in black and dark havanna frame hues. –rpuccia
